Parent - Child Counselling
An enormous body of research shows that the quality of parent - child relationships is of paramount importance for a child, teen and young adult’s long-term health and well-being. Yet many parents and their children never manage to sit down to talk about the good things and difficult things in their relationship.

I work with parents alone or sometimes in parent - child sessions supporting greater connection through enabling communication about the things that matter, sharing those unspoken resentments, appreciations, hopes, fears and hurts that can derail a relationship.
Many parenting classes and courses offer skills to address a child’s challenging behaviour. My approach is different. It is about enabling parents and children to have the best possible relationship with each other.
The main approaches I draw on in parent - child relationship counselling are the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) approach and Internal Family Systems.
I am very interested in working with parents looking for support in their relationships with their adolescent and young adult children.
